Elaf Jameel Islam, a student under the supervision of Professor Vladimir Bajic, defended her Master's thesis on November 6, 2018.
Her topic, "Prediction of Active and Inactive Chemical Compounds from High-Throughput Assays", was well received by defense committee members Professor Mikhail Moshkov, Associate Professor Meriem Laleg, and Professor Vladimir Bajic.
Elaf developed machine learning models that can predict if a chemical compound will be active in a particular test/assay.
