Recently at the Dubai Expo 2020, our CBRC Ph.D. students Sakhaa Alsaedi and Sara Althubaiti presented their artwork under the title "Within tears and smiles". Their artwork is an AI artist algorithm that takes people through a journey of imagination on feelings over the period of COVID-19, translating sentiments into a piece of art and music that embodies anguish and hope. Their project SentiMonica was part of the International AI Artathon in cooperation with Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SDAIA).
AI Artathon is one of the initiatives of the Global AI Summit. It is the first art-based artificial intelligence AI Artathon competition to create awareness about artificial intelligence through art. Sakhaa and Sara's project SentiMonica has been chosen within the top ten artworks presented at Expo Dubai 2020 in Saudi Arabia Pavilion. At CBRC we are beyond proud of their achievement.
