Dr. Jordan Richards is a postdoctoral fellow in the Extreme Statistics Research Group of Prof. Raphaël Huser, developing machine learning approaches for spatial extremes with environmental applications.
Education and early career
Jordan Richards received his Ph.D. from Lancaster University under the supervision of Jonathan A. Tawn, Jennifer L. Wadsworth, and Simon Brown (from the UK Met Office). He joined KAUST as a postdoc in October 2021.
Areas of expertise and current scientific interests
Dr. Richards's mainly interested in extreme value theory and spatial statistics. In particular, his interest lies in the statistical modeling of extreme weather events.
