KAUST is organizing the KAUST-UCSB-NSF Workshop on Solid-State Lighting this year with the objective of providing a forum for interaction between scientists and students in the U.S. and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The workshop will be held in KAUST on the 13th and 14th of February 2012. We are anticipating 16 participants from the U.S. and approximately 50 participants from KSA attending this workshop.
Among the preeminent keynote speakers of the workshop are:
- Dr. Shuji Nakamura (UCSB, the inventor of blue/green GaN LEDs and lasers)
- Dr. Turki Al-Saud (Vice President for Research Institutes, KACST)
- Dr. Choon Fong Shih (KAUST's President)
- Dr. Henry T. Yang (UCSB's Chancellor)
