Hanaa was appointed as the inaugural center manager of the Resilient Computing and Cybersecurity Center (RC3) in February 2021, her mission is to ensure that the objectives of the RC3 are achieved. She works closely with the RC3 director, and team members, to develop and advance the center focusing on the strategic planning, operations, and administrative support to the RC3 team and affiliates.

Hanaa is an electrical engineer with a background and experience in computer and electronics chip design. For almost two decades, she designed and implemented processor and memory chips at IBM and Analog Devices in the US. Hanaa is a certified project manager with experience in leading and managing teams in advancing complex technology projects.

Hanaa joined KAUST in 2016. Prior to her current position in the RC3, she served as the inaugural manager for the Center of Excellence for NEOM Research at KAUST. She began her research administration career at KAUST working on the implementation of the KAUST research information system https://research.kaust.edu.sa (Pure by Elsevier) in the Office of Sponsored Research.
