Welcome to our website!

We are a group, led by Prof. Charalambos Konstantinou, in Electrical & Computer Engineering and Computer Science Programs and Resilient Computing and Cybersecurity Center (RC3) in Computer, Electrical and Mathematical Sciences & Engineering (CEMSE) Division at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) that focuses on cyber-physical energy systems, cybersecurity, resilience, embedded IoT devices, renewable energy integration, and real-time simulation. We are interested in building secure and resilient systems, especially those found in industrial control applications and critical smart grid infrastructure. The lab follows the concept of an attacking team, a "red-team," versus a "blue team" that responds to the intrusion. The concept helps SENTRY's researchers understand sophisticated cyberattacks to design adaptive, novel modeling methods, monitoring schemes, and control algorithms to detect, prevent, and mitigate the risk of cyberattacks.

The team’s research incorporates elements from computer security fundamentals and is linked to specific cyber-physical engineering applications, with the goal of (breaking and) building secure and resilient computing systems. This is our curiosity-driven research.
