Chen Zhao is a Research Scientist at Visual Computing Center, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), working with Professor Bernard Ghanem in the Image and Video Understanding Laboratory (IVUL).
Education and Early Career
Chen Zhao studied Engineering and got her Bachelor degree in Engineering from Sichuan University, China in 2010. In 2016, she received her Doctoral Degree from Peking University, China.
Before joining KAUST, in 2016, she worked as a research assistant at Peking University and at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She did an internship at the National Institute of Informatics (NII) in Japan. During 2013, she went to the University of Washington, U.S. as a visiting student.
Research Interest
Chen Zhao’s is interested in computer vision and deep learning, especially in video understanding and image processing.
Honors and Awards
Chen Zhao was awarded the Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Award in 2008. She also won the First Prize of Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship Contest (QInF) in 2012. Zhao was the Outstanding Graduate of Peking University in 2016.
