The program (AMCS-STAT School) was launched in 2018 with a group of talented Saudi undergraduate students in Applied Mathematics and Computational Science for the purpose of introducing them to diverse mathematical topics and broadening their career aspirations. Since then, the program has evolved to include the academic areas of Applied Mathematics and Computational Science (AMCS) and Statistics (STAT). The school aims to introduce curiosity-driven students to topics that break beyond conventional learning and show the directions of modern research. 2024 marks the 7th Annual AMCS-STAT School. The school continues to bring forth enrichment activities for students to deepen their knowledge in the fields, discover career paths, explore KAUST, and support their qualifications for graduate studies.
