What was your main subject during your undergraduate degree? Why did you choose it?

I majored in physics with a dual degree in computer science. I chose physics as my major because our world runs according to the laws of physics; it also runs on the internet and computers, so I took on computer science as a dual degree.

Why have you chosen to study an M.S./Ph.D. at KAUST?

KAUST can provide me with first-class scientific platforms and resources, and the professors here are experts in their research fields. Besides, KAUST’s logistics services make me free from the discomfort of living in a foreign country.

When did your interest in computer science arise? What are your research interests?

After I took some computer science courses, I found myself enjoying coding and solving problems by computer. Then I became more and more interested in computer science. My research interests are machine learning, computer version, and the Internet of Things.

What is your future outlook?

I want to become an outstanding student after my time at KAUST.

What are your hobbies? What are you passionate about?

I like playing basketball and running. I was once a marathon runner and have finished 20+ half-marathons and three marathons.

Can you give a piece of advice to students who plan to pursue an M.S./Ph.D. at KAUST?

They should show their motivation to the interested supervisor.
