What was your main subject during your master’s degree? Why did you choose it?
My master’s track is computational biology. It’s an intersection between computer science, mathematics and biology, which mainly tries to decipher the code of life — DNA. I choose it because it’s a growing field for research and discovery. It’s an exciting frontier to explore.
Why have you chosen to study a Ph.D. at KAUST?
I chose to study a Ph.D. at KAUST because it’s a fantastic place to conduct research. As I studied at KAUST, I’m familiar with its environment and the resources it provides. KAUST has excellent professors, very talented students and world’s top infrastructures. It’s the best place to pursue a Ph.D.
When did your interest in computer science arise? What are your research interests?
My interest in computer science arose during childhood, where I saw some shows about computers on TV. My research interests are computational biology and artificial intelligence.
What do you do in your spare time?
Well, I love running, coding, investigating fields of my interests, and daydreaming sometimes to imagine the impact of technology on our life and future during my spare time.
What is your future outlook?
I’ll finish my Ph.D. and find a position in academia.
Can you give a piece of advice to students who plan to pursue a M.S./Ph.D. at KAUST?
Research is an adventure. KAUST has the world's top infrastructures to help you succeed in that adventure.
