Abstract

This talk includes several recent personal contributions to the study of nonlinear problems with unbalanced growth. These problems have a variational structure and the associated energy is a double-phase functional. The study includes quasilinear elliptic equations
but our analysis is extended to elliptic-hyperbolic problems. Problems of this type have been intensively studied in the last two decades, after the seminal contributions of P. Marcellini and
G. Mingione.
