Student Enrichment and Development
KAUST is committed to fostering student growth beyond the classroom. Through engaging programs like the Winter Enrichment Program (WEP) and ongoing seminars, we empower students to explore diverse learning opportunities and develop the skills needed for success.
The Winter Enrichment Program
The Winter Enrichment Program (WEP) is an engaging two-week period in the academic calendar. Each January, WEP inspires KAUST students, scientists, and guests to step out of their daily routines and embrace a multitude of learning opportunities. The program, with an annual new theme, features prestigious keynote lectures, workshops and courses, distinguished lectures, exhibitions, science fairs, and more.
Over the years, WEP has featured notable individuals from all walks of life, including Nobel laureates, CEOs, ministers, elite athletes, leading academics, artists, and distinguished local and regional leaders. These high-profile speakers have enriched the program and University with their unique perspectives and insights.
Important: All students must attend at least one WEP event during their academic studies at KAUST.
Graduate Talks, Seminars, and Distinguished Lectures
CEMSE hosts a series of Graduate Talks, Seminars, Distinguished Lectures, Conferences, and Workshops designed to expose our students to the latest advancements and discoveries in global science and technology through engaging presentations by national and international experts.
As a member of the KAUST CEMSE Division, you have access to these events throughout the academic year, fostering connections and potential collaborations within the global research community.
Important: Graduate CEMSE students must enroll in graduate seminars for two semesters during their graduate studies at KAUST.
