Ibrahima N’Doye received simultaneously the Ph.D. degrees in Automatic Control from University of Lorraine at the Research Center of Automatic Control (CRAN-CNRS, University of Lorraine), France and University Hassan II Ain Chock, Casablanca, Morocco, in 2011. He was a Postdoctoral Researcher with the University of Luxembourg in the Automatic Control Research Group of the Research Unit in Engineering Sciences, from 2012 to 2014. He joined the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in the Division of Computer, Electrical and Mathematical Sciences and Engineering (CEMSE) as a Postdoctoral Researcher in 2014. He is currently a Research Scientist with the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in the Division of Computer, Electrical and Mathematical Sciences and Engineering (CEMSE). His research interests are in the area of estimation and control of fractional-order systems and nonlinear dynamical systems with applications in systems engineering and biomedical fields.

Research Interests

My research aims to develop a rigorous theoretical analysis framework and propose efficient control and estimation strategies to tackle some of the most intriguing research problems in an ever-diversifying industry. Most of the research projects I have contributed to, lie on the intersection of control theory and applied mathematics. The examples range from pointing and tracking control strategies for optical wireless communication, optimization of water desalination plants, control of distributed solar collectors and development of control and estimation algorithms for artificial pancreas for treatment of type 1 Diabetes.

To this end, my work focuses on fundamental questions at the intersection of control theory and applied mathematics. My problem-solving approach spans the development of mathematical models including fractional-order models, and the design of control and estimation algorithms.

In addition to more than 40 refereed publications, and others under review and preparation. I have exposed myself to a variety of teaching experience, including guest lecturing and providing teaching assistantship for a graduate and undergraduate course, and giving tutorials and invited talks on several occasions.

Recently, my research focuses on the design of estimation algorithms and controllers for optical wireless communications.
