Introduction to Research Ethics and Integrity - Including Issues Around Research Misconduct

This talk outlines KAUST's research ethics governance, detailing the submission processes for Research Ethics Committees and the institutional procedures for reporting misconduct and grievances.

Overview

Research ethics and integrity are integral to the research ecosystem at KAUST. It is therefore paramount that our research community is familiar with institutional policies and procedures governing research compliance. This lecture aims to share information on the governance structure and the research ethics committees (RECs) or review boards at KAUST. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the submission processes and timelines for these RECs as well as the institutional mechanism for reporting non-compliance (e.g., allegations of research misconduct) and research-related grievances.
