Overview

Brief Biography

Katharina Lorenz graduated in Physics by the University of Bonn, Germany in 1998 and completed a Ph.D. degree (Dr. Rer. Nat.) in Physics at the same university in 2002. She is currently researcher at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, Portugal. She specialized in experimental techniques in the area of nuclear solid state physics with focus on their application to the processing and characterization of wide band gap semiconductor (WBS) hetero- and nanostructures. Currently, her main research interests are the doping of WBS with optically active ions and the study of radiation effects in WBS materials for radiation detectors and radiation resistant electronics.
