Program Overview

The KAUST Saudi Summer Internship (SSI) is a 6-10 week research program designed to introduce Saudi university students and recent graduates to research topics in Applied Mathematics and Computational Sciences, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering and Statistics.

Participating students work on an individual research project mentored by leading scholars and experts, with the opportunity to showcase their work at the end of the program in an e-poster competition.  

The program features a unique structure, encompassing a variety of activities, including:

  • Participating in research projects in related STEM areas
  • Workshops and technical training in state-of-the-art and emerging technologies as required by the project
  • Side workshops on research skills and e-poster training
  • An e-poster competition at the end of the program
  • Engaging social events

Who Should Apply

The SSI invites candidates who meet the following criteria to apply:

  • Saudi recent graduates, senior undergraduates, or current master's students in related areas of applied mathematics, computer science, electrical and computer engineering and statistics
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 out of 4.00 or higher
  • Possess strong English language proficiency
  • Demonstrate a strong motivation to work on research projects

    • Up-to-date curriculum vitae (CV)
    • Official transcripts (in English)

  3. Pass interviews with KAUST faculty and administration
