Paper by KAUST students Muhammad Fahad Farooqui and Ahmed Nafe from Prof. Atif Shamim's group has been selected as the best paper in the "Inkjet-Printed Components category" in the premium conference, IEEE International Microwave Symposium (IMS) 2014. The paper is titled "Inkjet Printed Ferrite-Filled Rectangular Waveguide X-Band Isolator" and demonstrates for the first time a completely printed waveguide on a ferrite substrate where the transmission can be controlled magnetically. IMS is the top IEEE conference for RF and microwave community which is highly competitive with a very low acceptance rate. Some of the other selected papers for various categories are from universities such as the University of California Los Angeles, University of Michigan, University of Toronto, Purdue University, University of Texas (Austin) and Carnegie Mellon. Papers receiving top honors in their own categories will now compete for the "overall best student paper award in the conference" in June 2014.
Congratulations Fahad and Ahmed !!!!
