Dayanand Kumar

Dayanand Kumar is a Research Scientist focusing on 3D channel-all-around (CAA) transistors, 3D vertical optoelectronics memristors, neuromorphic computing, and AI hardware, with an emphasis on developing energy-efficient devices that integrate sensing, memory, and computation for next-generation edge artificial intelligence, intelligent robotics, wearable healthcare, and machine vision.
Biography
Dr. Dayanand Kumar is a Research Scientist in the Department of Electrical Engineering at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia. He received his Ph.D. in Electronics from National Chiao Tung University (now National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University), Taiwan. Before joining KAUST, he worked as a Process Integration Engineer at Micron Technology (Taiwan), Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), Postdoctoral Fellow at National Chiao Tung University, and Visiting Assistant Professor at National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan).
Dr. Kumar has published extensively in leading journals, including Nature, Light: Science & Applications, Advanced Materials, Advanced Science, Nano-Micro Letters, Cell Reports Physical Science, IEEE Electron Device Letters, IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, and ACS Applied Electronic Materials.
Dr. Kumar is a Senior Member of IEEE and serves as a reviewer and editorial board member for several leading international journals published by Nature Portfolio, IEEE, Wiley, ACS, Springer Nature, AIP, IOP Publishing, and the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Dr. Kumar's research excellence has been recognized through several prestigious awards, including the Outstanding Academic Research Performance Award presented by the CTCI Foundation, Taiwan, an honor awarded by the President of Taiwan for exceptional scientific achievements.
