Faten Alamri is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow working with Professor Marc G. Genton at the Spatio-Temporal Statistics and Data Science (STSDS) in King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST).

Education and Early Career

  • Faten obtained her Ph.D. in system modeling and analysis- statistics from Virginia Commonwealth University in the USA, 2020.
  • Faten holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics- concentration in statistics from University of Central Oklahoma in the USA, 2012, and a Bachelor degree of mathematics and science from Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in KSA, 2006.

Research Interest

Dr. Faten is mainly interested in Spatio-Temporal Statistics,  Data Science  and High-Performance Computing (HPC) for large environmental data.

Honors and Awards

Faten received and achieved the following: Student travel award for the Big Data Neuroscience Conference 2019, Awarded travel funding to the 2019 STATMOS,  Travel fellowships May Institute - Northeastern University 2019,  VCU Graduate School Travel Grant 2019. Faten was recognize from the US national statistics honor society Mu Sigma Rho 2019, for her outstanding achievement among students and faculty thereof.  She received Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University scholarship in 2017, President’s Honor Roll - UCO 2012 & 2011, Recognition Award of Academic Excellence- Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission , USA  2012, Recognition Award of research Excellence- Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission , USA 2012, Government Scholarship (king Abdullah scholarship program), 2009 and in her bachelor study she ranked as the fourth higher GPA among her class of 2006 with First level Honor – PNU.
