Biography

supervision of Professor Khaled Salama. Her doctoral research focused on biosensors and biomedical electronics, drawing on expertise in electro-physics, low-power sensing systems, microneedle technologies, and multiplexed diagnostics.

Building on this background, Fakeih is a co-founder of Gees Health, a femtech startup developing a handheld, saliva-based hormone monitoring device designed for at-home use. The technology aims to enable women to track key hormonal markers and manage conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The platform draws directly on her research expertise and KAUST-licensed intellectual property, with a working prototype completed and clinical validation underway.

Fakeih holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Effat University, where she graduated with second honors. As an undergraduate, she completed a six-month internship at KAUST focused on radio-frequency energy harvesting systems, which helped shape her long-term research interests in sensing and low-power biomedical electronics.
