About
Leo Raj Solay is a doctoral researcher in the Advanced Semiconductor Laboratory (ASL) within the Computer, Electrical and Mathematical Sciences and Engineering (CEMSE) Division at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia. His current research focuses on the design, fabrication, and characterization of vertical thin-film transistors based on wide- and ultrawide-bandgap oxide semiconductors for future three-dimensional electronic technologies.
His work combines semiconductor device engineering with nanofabrication, material characterization, electrical measurements, and performance analysis. Before joining KAUST, his research focused on nanowire field-effect transistors, including gate engineering, high-k dielectric stacks, ferroelectric negative capacitance, and biosensing applications.
Alongside his research, Leo has experience in teaching and mentoring students in semiconductor devices, solid-state device physics, device modelling and simulation, optoelectronics, and digital electronics. He has published several SCI-indexed, peer-reviewed journal articles as a first and corresponding author and has contributed to collaborative research publications.
