Zhiyan Yao
About
Zhiyan Yao is a PhD student in the Accelerated Connected Computing Lab at KAUST. He works on accelerator systems for distributed machine learning.
He received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science from Nanjing University of Science and Technology, China in 2021, He then worked as an Algorithm Engineer at Kuaishou Technology, China, and then as a Software Engineer on the Brainwave project at Microsoft, Beijing China until 2023. He then received the Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Amsterdam and VU Amsterdam in 2025.
