Jian Cao has an undergraduate background of applied math. He is doing PhD in Statistics under supervision of Prof. Marc Genton, with a focus on computational statistics. His research focuses on Monte Carlo simulation, hierarchical matrices, tile-low-rank matrices, and solving high dimensional multivariate normal or Student-t probabilities.
