How was your overall experience at KAUST?
My internship at KAUST was a very fruitful and enriching experience. It broadened my understanding of science applications, engineering concepts, and research methodology. A major testimony of the successful experience I have had during my previous internship at KAUST is the publication of a high-quality paper at the IEEE 90th Vehicle Technology Conference: R. Alghamdi, N. Saeed, H. Dahrouj, M. Alouini and T. Y. Al-Naffouri, "Towards Ultra-Reliable Low-Latency Underwater Optical Wireless Communications," 2019 IEEE 90th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2019-Fall), Honolulu, HI, USA, 2019, pp. 1-6.
What did you like most about the internship program? 
Besides the friendly work environment at KAUST, I would say the multiple offered facilities for KAUST students, be it for professional or personal growth. 
What advice would you give to prospective SSI interns? 
Explore KAUST's campus, offered programs/courses and services. Whenever you are stuck, do not hesitate to ask for help.

How was your overall experience at KAUST? 
I extremely enjoyed my summer at KAUST, it was such an enriching experience. Not only academically but also socially being in such diverse unique community is great. Academically, I gained many valuable laboratory skills as well as communication skills.
What did you like most about the internship program?
What I like the most about the internship program is that it directly connects to a research group that matches your chosen interest. At KAUST, you get to access world-class facility and interact with experts who are in charge of all tools. 
What advice would you give to prospective SSI interns? 
Besides academics, I advise them to make the most fun out of their time here. Also, try to explore KAUST more. There are so many sports and recreational activities that you should try.

It was an interesting experience and opportunity to learn more information about the topic and meet other students in the same field. I enjoyed living at KAUST where it has a variety of facilities and activities. Also, I really liked KAUST multicultural environment.

I liked that we had the opportunity to take a C++ course which allow me to interact and work with master and PhD students. 
What advice would you give to prospective SSI interns?
I advise them to take advantage of the resources available for them and to not be afraid to ask questions. Also, I advise them to use this internship to learn and try new skills.

Being influenced by 20+ years experienced research faculty, being exposed to what I want to do in the future, and being considered as a reliable team member in the group has led me to a satisfactory state of mind which is having more certainty of my long term career goals. 
What advice would you give to prospective SSI interns?
This internship is not going to be long enough to discover everything. So, try as hard as you can to exploit every moment in this short period.
