CEMSE Welcomes new Professor: Dr. Jr-Hau
Prof. He joins from National Taiwan University, where he was a tenured associate professor of Electrical Engineering.
About
The CEMSE Division has recently welcomed a new Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering, Dr. Jr-Hau He. He has been a Postdoc Fellow at National Tsing Hua University in 2006 and Georgia Tech in 2007 a Visiting Professor at Georgia Tech in 2008, UC Berkeley in 2010 and 2014, and UC San Diego from 2012 to 2013, and tenured Associate Professor at National Taiwan University in 2007 to 2014. He has been at KAUST since the 7th of July this year.
What are your research interests?
Dr. He puts all his efforts in the development of transparent and flexible electronics using novel devices based on nanomaterials, including solar and photo-detector, LED, and memory devices. He is also interested in harsh electronics, where he has a particular interest in solar energy are efforts to understand light scattering and trapping in nanostructured materials and design next-generation solar cells. He is also interested in transport of charge carriers across these solar cells and improving light coupling to increase the efficiency of photo-induced charge separation. Dr. He's group is also currently involving in fundamental physical properties of the nanomaterials, such as the transport and switching behavior of 2D nanomaterials.

Research Group
Nano Energy Lab (http://nanoenergy.kaust.edu.sa), led by Prof. Jr-Hau He, is dedicated to developing the design of new nanostructured architectures for Nanophotonics and the next generation of nanodevices, including Photovoltaics (PV), and Resistive memory. He is also involved in directly observing resistive switching of memory device using in situ transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and electron beam lithography technique.
