I decided to join KAUST because of its outstanding environment and the exceptional quality of its professors, postdocs, and students. The university's recent focus on applied research resonates deeply with my background, which spans both academic and industrial domains. This alignment presents a unique opportunity to transform our theoretical concepts into tangible innovations, ultimately contributing to the advancement of society.

Houcine Chougrani received his State Engineering degree in electronics from École Nationale Polytechnique in Algiers, Algeria, in 2011, followed by an M.Sc. in signal processing from Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse, France, in 2012, and a Ph.D. in information technology from École Telecom Bretagne in Brest, France, in 2016. After completing his studies, he spent several years in industry, working as a Research and Development Engineer at Airbus Defence&Space and OQ Technology.
