Fadil Habibi Danufane is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Communication Theory Lab (CTL) of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), under the supervision of Professor Mohamed-Slim Alouini.

Education and Early Career

Fadil Habibi Danufane received his B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Indonesia, in 2013, and his M.Sc. degree in computational science from Kanazawa University, Japan, in 2017. In 2021, he obtained his Ph.D. degree in telecommunications with the Laboratory of Signals and Systems in CentraleSupélec, Paris-Saclay University, France. 
Before joining KAUST, he was with the Research Center for Electronics and Telecommunications, National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). He was also an Early Stage Researcher of the European-Funded Project H2020 5G STEP FWD with the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), France.

Research Interest

Fadil's research interests include wireless communications, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, stochastic geometry, and visible light communications. 

Honors and Awards

Fadil's research interests include wireless communications, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, stochastic geometry, and visible light communications.  Fadil is a recipient of the 2021 Prix Mahar Schützenberger – a yearly award aimed at select young Indonesian doctoral students in France for the scientific quality of their work.
He also received a couple of scholarships for graduate studies, namely the Japanese Government (MEXT) scholarship for Master degree in Global Human Resources Development Program of Kanazawa University (October 2015 – September 2017) and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Initial Training Network (MSCA-ITN) scholarship for PhD program in CNRS under the 5G STEP FWD consortium (June 2018 – May 2021).
