Wireless communication is one of the key technologies in today’s world to connect people and things. It is fantastic to work in the field of signals that you don’t see, hear, or smell; however, you know they exist.

Mikail Erdem works as a postdoctoral fellow at the Communication Theory Lab at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed-Slim Alouini.

Education and Early Career

Mikail Erdem received his B.S. degree in Electrical-Electronics Engineering at Bogazici University in 2014, he received his M.S. degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering at Istanbul Sehir University in 2016, and he received his Ph.D. degree in Electronics Engineering at Sabanci University in 2021.

In 2016, he worked as a research engineer for IstLink Communication on the LTE-Advanced Communication System Development Project. From Fall 2016 to Spring 2021, he worked as a teaching and research assistant at Sabanci University. In Summer 2021, he worked as an instructor at Sabanci University. From September 2021 to April 2023, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Telecommunications and Networking Lab at Sabanci University.

Research Interest

Mikail Erdem’s research interests include estimation/cancellation in wireless communications, full duplex communication, and terahertz communication.

Mikail Erdem was awarded the scholarship for his Ph.D. Studies from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK).
