Overview
Abstract
A 100% renewables-based power system requires higher energy flexibility than conventional grids. ENOWA is developing an Energy Flexible Manufacturing Design Service in collaboration with OXAGON’s Advanced and Clean Manufacturing. This service offering entails a planning approach and toolkit that ENOWA can offer to support designing & planning energy flexible manufacturing. At the core this involves developing a foundational methodology to evaluate energy flexibilities from sub-processes and components within manufacturing clusters; and building a factory configuration and simulation tool, to finely shape and tune production lines to match as closely as possible the profile of renewable energy power systems.
Brief Biography
Emeka leads Customer Flexibility Solutions, an innovation implementation unit at ENOWA, focused on aligning power load profiles of industrial processes to the shape of NEOM's 100% renewable energy system. A geologist by background, Emeka commenced his career in energy with ExxonMobil Upstream Technical Computing, where he worked on applying advancing technologies, such as 3D visualization, to the challenge of investigating the earth’s sub-surface in search of commercial deposits of oil and gas. Since 2006, Emeka has worked in the clean energy space, first for 12 years in renewable generation, then subsequently in the intersection of transitioning power systems towards renewable energy and industry decarbonization. Emeka has extensive international experience working for leading global energy companies, including ExxonMobil, SSE, and EnelX, across multiple countries, including Nigeria, USA, Ireland, UK, Italy, and Australia. Emeka earned a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Geology degree from Federal University of Technology, Owerri (Nigeria); a Master of Business Administration (MBA) specializing in Strategy from University College Dublin (Ireland); and a Master of Law (LLM) in Oil & Gas Law from Robert Gordon University Aberdeen (Scotland).
