Two KAUST spin-offs emanating from the Information Systems Lab (ISL) were under the spotlight last week. MOBiSENSE and QAWAM were on display during a visit by a delegation from the Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF). The delegation was headed by SIDF CEO, Dr. Ibrahim Almojel, who was invited to visit by KAUST President Prof. Tony Chan. The audience were given a live demo of the AI-powered technology developed by Qawam to address the universal “tech-neck” problem. On the other hand, the MOBiSENSE team showcased their mobility and footfall analytics solution aimed at helping businesses improve customer experience and engagement. This was a great opportunity to shed some light on applied research and successful technology commercialization work taking place at ISL.
