The Oil & Gas Middle East (ME) Awards 2023 was held on March 2 at the Grosvenor House, Dubai. The event celebrated the brilliant individuals, initiatives, and businesses shaping the Middle East’s oil and gas sector. The awards recognized and rewarded individual excellence, corporate prowess, and projects that have taken strides to become future-ready within the energy sector.
This year, organizers received a record number of nominations, surpassing 140 from nearly 50 companies. They are excited to celebrate the success of the projects, initiatives, individuals, and companies that have shaped the energy sector during the past year.
Professor Shehab Ahmed, Dr Moutazbellah Khater, Dr Tarek Mostafa and Guang Ooi in collaboration with ARAMCO submitted an application in Jan 2023. Smart PIG “AI Powered Advanced Sensing for Pipe Wall Loss” has been shortlisted for the Oil and Gas ME Awards 2023 in the category of Technical Innovation of the Year. Technical Innovation of the Year award recognizes a project that demonstrates a successful, innovative technical solution, which has solved a critical challenge faced by an operator.
Dr Moutazbellah Khater and Dr Tarek Mostafa attended the award ceremony in Dubai. Although they did not take home the winning trophies at the 13th annual Oil & Gas Middle East Awards, the team were thrilled to be shortlisted.
