Altynay Kaidarova, a CEMSE Master student in the Electrical Engineering Program, under the supervision of Prof. Jurgen Kosel, has recently been elected as a member of the Next Generation Magneticans Advisory Board.

The IEEE Magnetics Society has selected ten motivated and enthusiastic students to lead the international group of young professionals, known as "Next Generation Magneticans Advisory Board" during the 62nd Annual Conference on Magnetism and Magnetic Materials (MMM 2017), Nov. 6-10, 2017, in Pittsburgh.

Kaidarova has been appointed board member after the successful presentation of her research on "Underwater animal monitoring magnetic sensor system."

The mission of the newly created Next Generation Magneticans Advisory Board is to support young professionals in magnetic science, promote the advancement of magnetic related technology, as well as the exchange of information among its members and global industrial community.

It is hoped that the forum will nurture constructive interactions between the new generations of researchers working in the field of magnetism and prepare a tentative program for future international magnetism conferences.

Kaidarova obtained her B.S. in Electronics & Communication Engineering from the University of Liverpool (UoL), Liverpool, UK, in 2014. Currently, she is pursuing a Ms/ Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at KAUST and carrying out her research project in Professor Kosel's Research Group -  Sensing, Magnetism and Microsystems .
