Gianmarco Manzini from Los Alamos National Laboratory (USA) and Francesca Gardini from University of Pavia (Italy) visited NumPDE during November 2023 for research collaborations.
Their research if focused on classical and mixed finite element methods, virtual element methods, mimetic finite difference schemes and tensor train models.
On November 14, Francesca Gardini delivered the seminar "The Partition of Unit Finite Element Method for the Schrodinger Equation", organized by the KAUST SIAM student chapter.
On the same day, Gianmarco Manzini presented his research on "Tensor-train methods for PDEs and its application to a Neutron Transport Problem" at the Mathematics and Applications Colloquium.
