Gianmarco Manzini from Los Alamos National Laboratory (USA) and Francesca Gardini from University of Pavia (Italy) visited NumPDE during November 2023 for research collaborations.

Their research if focused on classical and mixed finite element methods, virtual element methods, mimetic finite difference schemes and tensor train models.

One of the last "KAUST Opportunity Found Program" grants has been assigned to NumPDE.

The research will be focused on "Model reduction methods for modal analysis in computational mechanics" and the NumPDE team, lead by Prof. Daniele Boffi, will collaborate with Prof. Fleurianne Bertrand (Chemnitz, Germany)  and Prof. Luca Heltai (SISSA, Italy).

Daniele Boffi was invited plenary speaker at the STEM Education Summit held in Riyadh on September 29-30, 2023. The summit aimed to promote the advancement of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics  education, fostering innovation and preparing Saudi youth for future challenges.

Clarissa Astuto attended the conference "Multiscale analysis and methods for PDE's: fluids and active matter dynamics", held in Singapore from 6th to 10th February 2023. As invited speaker, she presented the talk "Finite-difference scheme for a tensor PDE model of biological network formation and applications".
