About

Mohammed Zahed Mustafa Khan worked as a Post-Doctoral fellow at the Photonics lab after receiving his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering under the supervision of Prof. Boon Ooi from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). Mohammed received his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia, in 2004, and Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication from Osmania University, India, in 2001.

Mohammed is currently an Assistant Professor at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia. His area of focus is on the theoretical and experimental work on quantum confined nano-structure lasers, particularly on the broadband quantum-dash lasers. Previously, from 2004-2009, he held the position of lecturer within the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology Department, at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, (KFUPM), Hafr Al-Batin campus, Saudi Arabia. During his stay at KFUPM, he was involved in the modeling and simulation of three-dimensional optical waveguide problems.

Research Interests

Mohammed's research interests include Theoretical modeling of quantum-dot/quantum-dash lasers, Experimental characterization of broadband quantum-dash lasers and superluminescent diodes.
