Diego Rojas Blanco
About
Diego Rojas is a Ph.D. candidate in Earth Science & Engineering. He is studying under the supervision of Professor Matteo Parsani. Diego works on the development of entropy stable algorithms for the simulation of turbulent flow. Algorithms of this kind have new and exciting properties related to the reliability and scalability of our simulations so that we can use the power of modern supercomputers to simulate fluid flow problems to higher resolution.
Research Interest
Diego Rojas research interest include Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Scientific Visualization, and High Performance Computing (HPC).
Why Computational fluid dynamics?
CFD combines engineering, mathematics and computer science. It leverages the ever-increasing power of modern computational resources to study complex problems with industrial and environmental applications. I feel very fortunate about the opportunity to work on this intersection with a multidisciplinary group. However, there are still many challenges in this field. We address some of them in this group to bring CFD to the next generation supercomputers.
