Mohammad Asim Aftab received B.Tech. (Hons.) degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow, in 2012. He received M.Tech. degree in Control & Instrumentation Systems in 2015 and PhD in Electrical Engineering in 2020 both from Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University), New Delhi, India.
He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in SENTRY Lab, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia. Prior to this, he was working as Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering Department with Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (Deemed to be University), Patiala, Punjab.
Asim has authored multiple articles in well reputed and peer reviewed journals. He is a member of IEEE Industry Connection program on PLC Test Beds in India, IEEE Technical Committee on Smart Grid. He is a reviewer for IEEE Transactions, Elsevier and Springer Journals. He was a recipient of Best Reviewer Award by Elsevier in 2018.
His research interests include active distribution systems, power system communications, IEC 61850 based utility automation, wide area control and measurement systems, Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU), Cybersecurity in Smartgrid.
