Meshari Alazmi, a Ph.D. candidate under the supervision of Associate Professor Xin Gao, defended his Ph.D. dissertation on October 24, 2018.
His topic, "Towards Rational Design of Biosynthesis Pathways", was well received by committee members Associate Professor Xin Gao, Professor Vladimir Bajic and Professor Stefan Arold.
In his research, Meshari developed two tools to design de novo pathways; one is Metabolic Route Explorer (MRE) while the other is Fingerprint Contribution (FC).
