Isotropic Geometry

Isotropic Geometry and Applications in Geometric Computing

Khusrav Yorov, Ph.D. Student, Applied Mathematics and Computational Science
Jan 15, 10:30 - 12:00

B3 L5 R5209

Isotropic Geometry geometry processing discrete differential geometry

This thesis addresses challenges in computational design and fabrication, particularly in the geometry of architectural gridshell structures and their approximation, by solving nonlinear optimization problems.

Towards Flexible Polyhedral Nets

Pirahmad Olimjoni, Ph.D. Student, Applied Mathematics and Computational Science
Nov 10, 14:30 - 15:30

B4 L5 R5209

Isotropic Geometry discrete differential geometry applied mathematics algorithms optimization

This thesis research provides a comprehensive classification of flexible geometric nets of arbitrary size in both Euclidean and isotropic geometries, revealing that only two distinct classes exist in each setting and demonstrating their relationship to mechanical design.

Khusrav Yorov

Ph.D. Student, Applied Mathematics and Computational Science

Isotropic Geometry discrete differential geometry geometry processing olympiad math

Khusrav's research focuses on geometry and its application in real life, especially differential geometry, discrete differential geometry, and isotropic geometry.
