Meet KAUST prospective student: Carlos Augusto Zan Malaguti

Carlos Augusto Zan Malaguti, 23, from Brazil, obtained his bachelor’s degree in electronics and telecommunications engineering from Sao Paulo State University (UNESP). Carlos will join KAUST in the fall of 2020 as an M.S./Ph.D. candidate in the KAUST Sensors Lab under the supervision of Professor Khaled Nabil Salama.

Xiong Dun

Xiong Dun was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Computational Imaging Group (VCCIMAGING) working with Professor Wolfgang Heidrich at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). Education and Early Career Dr. Dun obtained his bachelor degree in Electronic Science and Technology from Harbin Institute of Technology in Harbin, China in 2007. After that in 2010, he received his master degree in Optical Engineering from Tianjin Jinhang Institute of Technology and Physics in Tianjin, China. He has a doctoral in Optical Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology in Beijing

Qiang Fu

Research Scientist, Computer Science
Qiang Fu is a Research Scientist in the Computational Imaging Group (VCCIMAGING) working with Professor Wolfgang Heidrich at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). Education and Early Career Qiang Fu obtained his bachelor degree in Manufacturing and Design Automation of Machinery from University of Science and Technology of China in 2007. He has a Ph. D. in Optical Engineering from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (2012). In 2012, Qiang joined the Academy of Opto-Electronics at Chinese Academy of Sciences as an Assistant Research Fellow. Juan Manuel Marin Mosquera

PhD Student juan.mosquera@kaust.edu.sa Introduction Juan M. Marin is a PhD student in Electrical Engineering at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). He received a BSc in Electrical Engineering from The National University of Colombia in 2021. His research focuses on Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing (DFOS) and developing multi-configuration systems based on optical fiber, embedding DFOS in optical communication and power delivery networks.
