My research is in the fields of nanophotonics and plasmonic metamaterials. I have a special focus on novel applications in the domains of plasmonic biosensors and acousto-optical devices and functionalities. The research facilities, including supercomputers, nanofabrication labs, etc. make the realization of many ideas feasible.

Education and early career

Dr. Mohamed Farhat received his Ph.D. in Optics and Electromagnetism from Aix-Marseille University in 2010, where he obtained as well his Master degree in Theoretical Physics in 2006. His PhD dissertation was titled by "Metamaterials for Harmonic and Biharmonic Cloaking and Superlensing". He has since several postdoctoral experiences inluding Austin (USA) and Jena (Germany).

Research Interests

Mohamed's research is in the fields of plasmonics and metamaterials with applications spanning optics, terahertz, and elastodynamic waves.
