Dr. Baha Eddine Belmekki wins second place in Falling Walls Lab KAUST 2023

Dr. Baha Eddine Belmekki, a postdoctoral fellow in the Communication Theory Lab (CTL), participated in the Falling Walls Lab KAUST 2023 and won second place.

Recently, Graduate Affairs extended their congratulations to the winners of Falling Walls Lab KAUST 2023. 

  • 1st Place: Yue Yuan; Breaking the Wall of Energy-Hungry Electronics 
  • 2nd Place: Baha Eddine Belmekki; Breaking the Wall of Internet Inequality 
  • 3rd Place: Montserrat Ramirez De Angel; Breaking the Wall of Speech Impediments, and Esraa Fakeih; Breaking the Wall of Sever Allergies  

As the second place, Dr. Baha won the chance to represent KAUST at The Falling Walls Lab in Berlin on November 7-9, where he will present his breakthrough research ideas.

Established 20 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Falling Walls is a global event dedicated to supporting science and the humanities. Yue and Baha will present their research ides in the upcoming November competition in Berlin. We wish them the best of luck in Berlin!
