Imran Shafique Ansari (EE PhD Candidate) was selected to receive the IEEE Richard E. Merwin Scholarship in recognition of his exemplary involvement in student chapter activities, his excellent academic achievement, and his willingness to act as a student ambassador.
Imran received his BS in Computer Engineering with first honors from King Fahd University Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, KSA, in 2009 and his MS in Electrical Engineering (EE) from KAUST in 2010.
He is currently a PhD Candidate in the EE Program within the Computer, Electrical, and Mathematical Science and Engineering (CEMSE) Division at KAUST where his research interests lie in the modeling and performance analysis of optical and hybrid RF/optical wireless communication systems.
