Hadi Amata is a Research Scientist in the Computational Imaging Group (VCCIMAGING) working with Professor Wolfgang Heidrich at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST).
Education and Early Career
Dr. Amata received his master degree in Electronics/Microelectronics from Provence University in France in 2008. He obtained a doctoral in Electrical Engineering “Optics and Photonics” from Jean Monnet University of Saint Etienne in France in 2012.
He started his career life as a teaching assistant at Saint-Étienne Institute of Technology (IUT) in 2010. He was also a teaching assistant professor at Telecom Saint-Etienne Engineering School. He later worked as assistant professor at CNRS-Laboratory Hubert Curien in Telecoms Saint-Etienne Engineering School. In 2013, he joined École Supérieure de Chimie Physique Électronique de Lyon (CPE of Lyon) as assistant professor for one year. Dr. Amata joined KAUST in 2014. He’s a research scientist since then.
Research Interest
Hadi is interested in development of research prototypes in the field of computational photography.

Hadi Amata received the Highest Honors PhD from Jean Monnet University in France in 2012 for his doctoral degree.

Hadi has many publications in his research field. One of the papers that he co-authored with Yifan Peng, Qiang Fu, Shuochen Su, Felix Heide, and Wolfgang Heidrich is titled “Computational imaging using lightweight diffractive-refractive optics” which was represented in 2015 Optical Society of America.
