Hassan Makine Oubei obtained a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering under the supervision of Prof. Boon Ooi at the Computer, Electrical, and Mathematical Sciences and Engineering Division at KAUST. He received the B.S (2007) degree in Electrical Engineering from the City College of New York, USA. He joined Corning Incorporated’s research and development (R&D) division in Corning, New York where he worked as Opto-Electronics Engineer to develop synthetics green lasers for display applications (2007-2011) and Process Measurements Engineer (2011-2013). While working for Corning, Hassan also obtained his M.S (2010) degree in Electrical Engineering from Binghamton University in Binghamton, New York.

Research Interests

Hassan's research interests included Underwater wireless optical communications (UWOC), Optical fiber communications, Underwater optical channel modeling and Electroabsorption modulators based on InGaN/GaN quantum structures.
