About

Gleb Ludnikov is a PhD student at the Communication Theory Lab (CTL), King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), under the supervision of Professor Mohamed-Slim Alouini.

Education and Early Career

Gleb Ludnikov received his B.Sc. in Photonics and Optical Information Technologies from ITMO University in 2023. During his undergraduate studies, he developed a terahertz nanoantenna with diagram-forming properties based on sillenite-group crystals, which marked the foundation of his early research experience. In 2022, he joined the Advanced Research Program at the University of Arizona, where he conducted a study on the societal impact of quantum technologies. He went on to obtain his M.Sc. in Applied Photonics (with Honors) from ITMO University in 2025. His Master’s dissertation focused on the development of a system for simultaneous data transmission and optical tracking based on ghost imaging techniques. In 2024, he participated in a Summer Program at Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NJUST), where he engaged in projects on artificial intelligence. Before joining the Ph.D. program at KAUST, he conducted research as a visiting student under the supervision of Professor Mohamed-Slim Alouini.

Research Interest

Gleb Ludnikov is interested in Free-Space Optical Communications, Remote Sensing, Optical Imaging, and Terahertz (THz) Communications.
