About Yousef Algoos Yousef Algoos Ph.D., Mechanical Engineering Yousef Algoos earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) under the supervision of Professors Eric Feron and Mohammad Younis. His research specializes in nano/micro-electro-mechanical systems (N/MEMS) and semiconductor technologies, with a focus on nanofabrication, N/MEMS design and dynamics, micro robotics, control theory, vibration, and mechatronics. During his doctoral work, Algoos developed ultra-miniaturized, energy-efficient microchips capable of detecting dangerous impacts associated with concussions and head injuries in real Articles Related News January 2026 Tiny sensor could transform head injury detection 1 min read · Mon, Jan 12 2026 News Clip News sensors After losing his brother to undetected head trauma, a KAUST researcher helped design a sensor that instantly distinguishes minor bumps from dangerous blows.
