KAUST CTL PhD candidate receives 1st Prize at the 2024 KAUST ACM/SIAM Student Chapter Poster Competition.

Fares Fourati, a PhD candidate at KAUST in the Communication Theory Lab (CTL), has been awarded the first prize in the 2024 KAUST ACM/SIAM Student Chapter Poster Competition. 

The competition, organized at KAUST, aimed to highlight innovative research from PhD students in the Computer, Electrical, and Mathematical Science and Engineering (CEMSE) division. 

The event, held on October 10, 2024, featured his research contributions to reinforcement learning, particularly his latest work on stochastic Q-learning for large discrete action spaces which he presented recently at the 41st International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML), Vienna, Austria and which is available at https://arxiv.org/pdf/2405.10310.

CTL also congratulates the other winners for their outstanding work and presentations: Keqiang Lyu, who won the second prize, and Artavazd Maranjyan, who won the third prize.
