The Hierarchical Computations on Manycore Architectures (HiCMA) group at KAUST invites applications for a post-doctoral research scientist, effective immediately.
The successful candidate will research and implement algorithms and develop software with a primary focus on scalable hierarchical algorithms – H-matrices – on next-generation massively parallel architectures. These algorithms have the potential to replace “workhorse” kernels of computational science and engineering at extreme scale due to their low arithmetic and storage complexity, high arithmetic intensity, exploitable SIMD concurrency, and suitability for asynchronous programming models (e.g., using task-based runtime systems). Experience with emerging floating-point accelerator architectures and sparse and dense methods of linear algebra is desired. The software development is tightly connected with critical KAUST scientific applications including spatial statistics, computational chemistry, seismic imaging, and electromagnetics.
