Dr. Bozhang Dong is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Integrated Photonics Laboratory, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). He received his B. E. degree in Optoelectronic Information Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, in 2016, and his M. Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering with honors from Paris-Saclay University, France, in 2018. He earned his Ph.D. from Institut Polytechnique de Paris, France, in 2022, where he defended his thesis, “Quantum-Dot Laser on Silicon: Nonlinear Properties, Dynamics, and Applications”. His work was recognized as Outstanding Ph.D. Research and subsequently published by Springer.
Prior to joining KAUST, Dr. Dong was a postdoctoral scholar in Prof. John Bowers’ group at the University of California, Santa Barbara, United States (2022-2024). He has published over 20 peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals, including Nature, Nature Photonics, and Light: Science & Applications. He served as referee in peer-reviewed journals published by IEEE, Optica, and IOP, and has received IOP Trusted Reviewer Status. His doctoral research earned him the 2022 Best Thesis Award from Institut Polytechnique de Paris, the 2021 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Student Abroad, and the 2021 IEEE Photonics Technology Letters Best Paper Award.
